Palermo is a city and capital of the autonomous region of Sicily and the province of Palermo. The port of Palermo is the largest on the island of Sicily, with regular connections to mainland Italy. The port has very limited facilities but has regular fast trains and bus services. The port is located in the heart of the city, so restaurants and shopping is close at hand.

The main ferry port and also fishing port is located in the town of La Goulette, which is approximately 8 miles from central Tunis. You will find some of the finest seafood restaurants around the port, but little else.
